What is the difference between Squalane and Squalene?
While related, Squalane and Squalene are not identical. Squalene, naturally occurring in our bodies, comprises around 13% of our skin’s sebum and helps protect its barrier while sealing in moisture. Squalane is the hydrogenated form of Squalene.
How is the Squalane in Ultra Facial Cream sourced?
Here at Kiehl’s, we use Squalane derived from olives and sugarcane in our skincare, including our Ultra Facial Cream. We never formulate with animal-derived Squalane.
