Hair is made up from proteins that will help the hair to maintain the structure and Elasticity in the hair. Actions like blow drying, styling and coloring services can weaken the proteins in the hair. This can cause damage and weakness to the hair.
Hair is made up of both proteins and moisture. Protein adds strength and Moisture adds softness and suppleness to hair. Once you have determined whether your hair is dry or damaged, you can select a range that is either moisturising or strengthening.
Hold a strand of wet hair between each thumb and stretch it. If it retracts, this is a sign that it has good strength. If the hair does not stretch and retract, or even breaks, this could be a sign that it is damaged.
